Prior to that, Tug-Blue Water was purchased after an official process of condition survey and professional inspections by experts. Shabwah Office was initiated, followed by the Aden Office beginning of 2020. Aden Office plays the main role in administrating the operations onboard and offshore. Blue Water Maritime Shipping Company owns the special attribute of being officially authorized to perform Maritime Management both for its vessels and for other external vessels as well. That is supported by a professional maritime crew on board ready to operate and support 24/7, provided with high-tech navigational technologies. Job Description
The 2nd Engineer provides utmost assistance to the Chief engineer for running the ship efficiently. Moreover, second engineer is also in-charge of all the operational engineers and the crew of the engine room. He ensures for their personnel safety and routine duties. He also plans the overall maintenance of all the machinery present in the engine room of the ship.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for safety of crew, environment in engine room as well as his own safety.
Attends and participates in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings.
Responsible for the watch in the Engine Control Room. Supervises other personnel on watch and to assure the proper power distribution on the MODU.
Responsible for bunkering, transferring fuel, water and other fluids safely and efficiently.
Maintains the order, cleanliness and housekeeping at mechanical sites.
Maintains the mechanical equipment when required by the Chief Engineer.
Assists the Chief Engineer to ensure that all safety critical equipment onboard the ship is maintained and tested to satisfy safety policies, standards and procedures, and Flag State Regulations.
Identifies opportunities to improve operational procedures and assist with procedure revisions and risk assessments.
Requirements
At least one (1) year of experience as a 2nd Engineer or 24 months as 3rd Engineer.
2-3 years of experience on-board vessel.Â
Minimum of four years working in the Marine industry.
Certificates
More than 3000 kw 2nd Engineer COC.
Valid Seaman’s Book & Passport for more than 6 months.
Medical Fitness certificate.
All Mandatory STCW Certificates.
